Kylo Gun is a cowboy folk punk artist from the greater Phoenix area of Arizona. They started as a solo project, releasing their first EP under their real name, Bailey Pyritz, in early 2019, made up of songs they wrote at age 16 and 17 about mental health and capitalism, inspired by the acoustic music of Jason DeVore and Derek Bastard. In late 2019, they chose the stage name Kylo Gun and continued releasing solo music in 2020 with the release of Cowboy and Driving You to Work, taking a more western-themed approach. They continued as a solo act, combining both western and punk influences, but in 2023 started releasing music including drums and bass. In 2025, they formed a 3 piece band to bring more life and energy into their live performances and reflect the recent recordings. The current members of the project include Bailey Pyritz (Kylo Gun), Damon Dominguez on bass, and Nick Martinez on drums. Kylo Gun remains as the primary songwriter as it is still considered their project, with Damon and Nick adding their own flavor to prior-written songs and writing drums and bass for the newest songs.Â
